IMPLICATIONS OF JOURNAL ARTICLES FROM THE NUTRITION CENTER OF THE PHILIPPINES

Good governance for nutrition in the Philippines: Elements, experiences and lessons learned.

FS Solon. Food and Nutr Bull 2006;27:343-352

The lessons learned from the governance of past nutrition programs in the Philippines and the experiences in the implementation of the present plan and program of action for nutrition at the local level should be taken into consideration in the implementation of nutrition programs in the future.  The elements of good governance – participation by both men and women, respect for the rule of law, transparency, responsiveness, consensus-oriented, equity and inclusiveness, effectiveness and efficiency; and, accountability - should be present at all levels.
